Washington: Former U.S. President Barack Obama has made it clear that he will not return to electoral politics again. This time, he said it in a light-hearted way. Speaking on a podcast, Obama smiled and said that first of all, he is no longer a politician and cannot become one again. He admitted that the Constitution may technically allow him to hold certain positions, but he personally has no desire to run for office again. According to media reports, just as Obama is known as an excellent politician, he is also considered a wonderful family man. This is why his popularity extended beyond America to other countries as well. Since leaving the presidency, he has not been active in politics, although he has been asked about it many times. When he was asked again whether he would return to politics, he jokingly said, “I trust the Constitution, and I trust my marriage too.”
According to the report, Obama further said that if he tried to run for office again, Michelle would divorce him. His remark drew laughter and applause. Obama said that after leaving the White House, his priorities have changed. Now he and his wife, Michelle Obama, want to focus on inspiring and mentoring young people. He believes that real change in America will come from people in their 20s and 30s. He said that the new generation will reshape the country’s institutions. In this way, Obama made it clear that his politics will now be seen not in the electoral arena, but in guiding the younger generation.
Obama also mentioned a recent controversy on social media. A video was shared on the Truth Social account of current U.S. President Donald Trump, in which Obama and his wife’s faces were shown on the bodies of monkeys. The video was removed shortly afterward, and the White House said it had been posted by mistake. Without naming anyone, Obama said that such behavior makes most Americans uncomfortable. He expressed concern that the level of decency and respect in today’s politics and social media is declining. He said that social media and television have turned into a kind of spectacle.
